Barnett's billion dollar bank account

The Barnett Government have kept quiet a $2billion windfall to Treasury coffers while slamming Western Australian families and pensioners with record price hikes.
Department of Treasury and Finance’s Public Bank Account Investments – June Quarter 2010 report revealed the State Liberals had raked in an extra $2billion since December last year.
Since Colin Barnett became Premier, the average Western Australian household is now paying an extra $558 a year in increased electricity and water charges.
Power prices have soared by 45 per cent and water by 29 per cent since last winter.
"It is a disgrace that Western Australians are being conned into carrying the full burden of increased water and electricity prices while the Liberal Government pockets an astronomical $2billion in six months," Ms Saffioti said.
